Since I came home from the hospital, Christmas music has been playing on the radio in my room. My momma and daddy sing to me all the time - especially when I am crying during my diaper change! I've heard about Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer; but I've heard a lot about this Santa guy, and my momma and daddy took me to meet him this week! He asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him that I spit up a lot and so I wanted some burp cloths!

Happy One Month Birthday to Me!
I turned one month old on Friday. Momma and Daddy took me to Outback Steakhouse to celebrate... they may have enjoyed the trip and the meal more than I did!

How Time Flies!
So, I've been busy and haven't been able to post until now.... Cole eats all the time, so trying to squeeze a little house work and doctor visits between feedings doesn't leave much time for updating my social outlets!
We cannot believe that it has been four weeks since Cole was born! ...four weeks! Time flies when you are having fun, right?! ...and when you are sleep deprived! We are all doing well - Cole is gaining weight, Jeremy has went back to work, and, even after being left alone night and day with the little one (seeing how Jer is back at work - and when he works, that's all he has time for), I still have all of my hair! Cole and I have been doing well by ourselves; the first day Jer was back at work, both Cole and I had had baths and dinner was ready when he got home from work. >>I was very proud of myself for this! Nothing else had been done, but at least we all were clean and fed!
So, we've been getting Cole out just a bit - We've taken him to the grocery store, Lollipops (so I could collect my money from bows), and to church. He has done very well with outings and I'd love to get him out just a bit more, but it is just too cold out! ...not to mention that it is flu season....
He sleeps very well during the day. He sleeps very well most nights, too. But the nights he doesn't sleep well are horrible! I think he had a tummy ache earlier this week - for three hours, if he wasn't eating, he was screaming! I felt like such a horrible mom! Eventually, though, he went to sleep and stayed asleep. Last night I was able to sleep next to Jeremy for a little over two hours while Cole slept in his crib down the hall! We are working on getting him to sleep in his crib so that we don't have a four year old in our bed in a few years! I'm the one who won't put him in his crib for every nap because I'm afraid he will puke and we won't hear him! (When Jeremy works, I sleep in the extra bed in Cole's room so that we don't wake him - seeing how he runs a nuke plant and all, he needs his sleep...!)

So, Cole is almost ready to eat again, so I need to wrap it up! I hope you've enjoyed reading about our boring last two weeks.... There will be more boring stories to follow later!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We've had a great day today. Jeremy cooked our Thanksgiving lunch while I napped and tended to the little one this morning. He did a GREAT job! The food was delicious!
We went for a walk this afternoon - our traditional after Thanksgiving meal walk that my mom always initiates (so we kept up the tradition this year, even though she couldn't be here). So, we put little one in his car seat so that we could attach it to the stroller.... He didn't do much to help us get him into his car seat!
We have much to be thankful for this year. We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

I'm Two Weeks Old Today!
Well, I've got lots to talk about today! For starters, I'm two weeks old today! My momma and daddy can't believe that it's only been two weeks since I was born. I suppose that has a lot to do with the fact that I won't let them sleep through the night, so they are sleep deprived and momma says she doesn't even know what day it is most of the time! I bet it also has something to do with me wanting to play between midnight and 2 am! I don't think they like that too much and they can't figure out that I really don't like that blue thing they call a 'passy' when I'm ready to play!
So, I had my two week check up today with my doctor. Here are the details of that visit as well as my other two visits:
First visit: 11/14/10: I weighed 7 lbs 8 oz - when I was born, I weighed 8 lbs 1/2 oz; when I left the hospital, I weighed 8 lbs. My doctor wasn't too happy to see that I had lost 1/2 lb over 4 days, so I had to go back to see her that same week.
Second visit: 11/18/10: I weighed 7 lbs 12 oz. My doctor was very happy to see that I had gained 4 oz over three days! She said that most babies gained on average an ounce a day, but I had been eating really well and I gained more than an ounce a day!
Third visit: 11/24/10: Today, I weighed 8 lbs 8 oz! Yes, that is 8 & 1/2 pounds! My momma kept saying that I was gaining weight! She even said that she could tell that my feet were getting fat! She also keeps saying something about how she doesn't like marathon eating sessions, but I'm a growing boy and she needs to get used to it! Besides, my doctor was happy that I'd gained weight but momma and daddy were very surprised that I'd gained 3/4 of a pound in one week! For those that are mathematically challenged, that's 12 oz in 7 days!
So, momma has been taking pictures of me this week.... It really annoys me, but I'm sure that I'll appreciate the pictures one day. It seems to make her happy to take my picture, so I suffer through it - just like I suffer through diaper changes and baths! Below are some pics my momma took this week!

Homecoming
We brought Cole home a week ago today. We rounded the curve toward our house and the grandmothers were swarming on the porch waiting for us!
I am so thankful that Cole enjoys riding in the car because we had a time trying to get him in his car seat for the first time. He was screaming bloody murder, but calmed down and was so good on the ride home and every subsequent trip since.
So, the past week has definitely been a trip! Many stories that we have already are not for those with weak stomachs! I'll post some G-rated versions of the stories later!

One Week Old
Yesterday I was one week old! I've had two doctor visits since I came home. I was born weighing 8 lbs and 1/2 oz and I now weigh 7 lbs 12 oz! My momma is feeding me well and I will soon be back up to my birth weight!
I've also had two baths since I came home. My daddy loves to bathe me but I don't care for them too much!
I loved watching Bama beat Mississippi State. I didn't get to see the end of the game because I was hungry and then it was bedtime, but my daddy said that the final score was 30-10! I love watching football with my daddy! I hope to one day play for the Tide! Roll Tide Roll!

He's Here!
Well, he's finally here! Cole Bryant Bailey made his debut at 4:36 pm on November 10th. It was a very long night (and day), but it was all worth it!
When we got there at 9:30 I was having contractions that were 4-5 minutes apart, but I was in no pain at all. By 6:00 am my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart, and still no pain! So, the doctor on call came in and broke my water (which by the way, was not the "little gush" that you read about... it would have been a large puddle!) and they "augmented" my labor - so we were finally, officially on our way!
My first epidural came out around 11:00 - I was dilated 6cm.... Thank goodness that I don't really remember the extent of my pain. I remember that I was in pain, that my mom was upset about my pain, and that Jeremy was ready to chase down the anesthesiologist that said he would "be right back." An hour and a half after the first epidural came out, I was receiving #2! This one just got me through labor - had I had to push any longer, it would not have been good! ...as a side note, I do remember telling Jeremy - after #2 kicked in - that women who CHOOSE to have a natural birth are crazy! I don't need hate mail or negative comments for saying this - if you choose this, then great, but I WILL NOT EVER CHOOSE to forgo drugs!
So, I pushed for an hour and at 4:36 pm Cole Bryant made his entrance into this world and into my heart and arms! He was perfect!

We arrived at the hospital around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, November 9th. I was leaking amniotic fluid and it took me an hour to convince the nurses that I had not peed on myself. Finally around 1:00 am I was settled into a labor and delivery room, the grandparents and aunt were on their way, and Jeremy was right by my side. I hate 4am
So, Jeremy is on day shift this work stretch. I have to admit that it is much better than night shift, but it still stinks! So, we went to bed at 815 last night. I was up at 12ish for a potty break and again at 345 for another potty break.... Jeremy just about scared me to death at the last potty break because as I was rolling and squirming to get out of bed, I heard water running and then the bathroom door opened...! So, anyway, I stayed awake so that I could see him for a few moments this morning, because with it being Wednesday, he will be asleep before I get home from Bible study. Bummer.... :(
So, today, I've been awake since before 4am.... Yesterday, I stayed awake after Jeremy left for work, which was around 420am.... I got so much done yesterday.... Vacuumed most of house, cleaned spare bedroom - which is now ready for company, washed some clothes, made bow holder for baby Emily, and actually cooked dinner last night! So, I realize that doesn't sound like I did too much yesterday, but that is a lot for swollen feet and potty breaks every 45 minutes!
So, my birthday was this past Sunday. We went to Sam's on Monday and I picked up a book I wanted and Jeremy said, "You don't want this new Nick Sparks book?" I didn't know he had a new book! So, for my birthday, I got TWO books! 1. Safe Haven by Nick Sparks and 2. Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls, which is the one I'm currently reading. She also wrote The Glass Castle, which I thoroughly enjoyed! The Glass Castle was about her childhood - the poverty they endured and her dead beat parents.... Half Broke Horses is about her grandmother's childhood and life - so far, it's a pleasant read. I should finish this one today provided that I wait to go to Lollipops and the mall later this week....
Just in case I haven't told you yet, my hairbows are for sale at Lollipops Children's Consignment on Baston Road in Martinez, GA. All bows are for sale at my craft show prices - there is no mark up! And, in case you were wondering, I HAVE to go to the mall this week because I have to have my wedding rings inspected to keep up my warranty.... I had forgotten that that was this month until two nights ago around 10pm.... I was quietly digging through drawers for my paperwork, trying my best not to wake the one who had to go to work the next day! I don't think I was successful, because he asked me last night what I was doing around 10 the night before! Oh well!

Whew, are we counting down the days!
Well, Cole will be here in just a few short weeks, or sooner.... My original due date is November 20th, but he is measuring big, so he could be here much sooner than that! So, we have our bags packed and are just waiting! The grandparents are also just waiting.... it's so funny that if they miss a call from us, that they call us back in a panic as soon as they realize they've missed a call!
So, since my last post, we've had two baby showers: one back home with family and one here, from our church family. I'll have to post pics later, when I download them from my camera, so I hope you can wait! But long story short, boy, do we have diapers, wipes, and anything with the University of Alabama printed on it!
UPDATE!
Here are the pics I promised!

We are finally getting some cooler weather! It is so nice to be able to walk to the mailbox and not break a sweat! So glad that our electricity bill will be decreased this month and that you can feel football season in the air!

What about it.....
or about us? Well, for starters, I'm pregnant - and you guessed it, the purpose of this blog is so our family and friends can keep up with us and (of course) baby Cole.
Well, baby Cole is due to arrive on November 20th. His room is ready for him, minus just a few minor details. Jeremy assembled his stroller and checked out all the bells and whistles on his car seat last week, so we are happy to announce that when he does arrive that we will be able to get the little stinker home!
Here is just a quick preview of the little stinker!
We've been very blessed to have had many baby items given to us, and until this week, what wasn't given to us, your truly, the frugal queen has bought on consignment or on sale. Can't say we've paid full price for a single item yet!
So, on Monday of this week, we were honored with a baby shower by my friends at work. Let me just say that my co-workers are fantastic and so generous and thoughtful! We received many of the items that will help to welcome Cole home and gift cards so that we can buy the other items we lack or need later, such as diapers... because I'm sure that we'll need lots and lots of diapers!
We have two more baby showers planned for early October, so I am hopeful that we will receive the remainder of the items we need.... ie: diapers and wipes!
Yesterday, I got out and about around town and found the cutest Thanksgiving bib at Lollipops Consignment, so he is now ready for his first Thanksgiving! Mmmm... Thanksgiving....
Ok, so that's enough for this morning... I've got a bowl of cereal and a vacuum calling my name!

I've been cleaning out the house in an attempt to rid our lives of junk. I guess that's what they call nesting.... so, if you have anything you want to get rid of, don't call us! We don't want it!
